Sarah is regularly hired to adjudicate dance competitions around the country and as an award winning choreographer Sarahâ€™s students have won many awards and accolades and many have gone on to professional careers. Sarah wrote the original National Jazz Syllabus for Performing Arts Educators of Canada, sat on their Executive Board as well as served as Chairperson of the Jazz Committee. Sarah also choreographed the â€˜Body and Soulâ€™ show for the Dove campaign. Â She holds membership with P.A.E.C. as well as a Dance Arts diploma from Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology.Â As the Co- of Director of ADA, Sarah loves to share her passion for dance with her students.
Cherylâ€™s students have gone on to professional careers asÂ performers and teachers and have competed all over Canada and the USA.Â She brings a wealth of experience to ADA and holds teaching accreditation/certificates through A.D.A.P.T. (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers), P.A.E.C. (Performing Arts Educators of Canada) as well as a diploma in Dance Arts Education from Cambrian College of Applied Arts and Technology. Â Cheryl is also an adjudicator on the competition circuit from time to time and her tap choreography has won many high accolades. She is so delighted to be the proud Co-Owner of A.D.A. and even more proud of her amazing students.
Mr. Absi will be taking the 2016/2017 season off to pursue lead roles in two professional shows that will be touring Canada for large portions of the school year.Â The Directors and Faculty wish Mr. Absi the best of luck and safe travels. All his students are anxiously awaiting his return and canâ€™t wait to hear about his adventures.
Ms. Schoenfeld is an award winning choreographer who is RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and ADAPT certified. Laeticia started her dance career in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. She started training in Ballet and Ukrainian Dancing. Soon after she started jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater and has received many awards in all disciplines throughout many competitions. While attending University of Saskatchewan, Laeticia decided to audition for Yevshan â€˜s Ukrainian Folk and Ballet troupe in Saskatoon. She danced with them for 2 years before deciding to go to school to become a Certified Ballet Instructor.
Soon after, Laeticia moved to Red Deer to pursue her dance teaching career. While in Red Deer she also worked for the Public School Board teaching Hip Hop to elementary and junior high students.
In Victoria, B.C. and worked in collaboration with filmmakers to make 2 promotional DVDâ€™s. This project was called Dance for the Camera. Both DVDâ€™s have been played at many different film festivals and have won many awards.
She believes in training students to love and appreciate the art of dance whether they are recreational dancers or aspire to be professional. She believes in discipline, respect and encourages all of her students to share in her love of dance and thoroughly enjoys helping student’s to reach their maximum potential.
For twenty years, Miranda Durbin has excelled at all forms of dance.Â Her inter-disciplinary expertise makes her a sought after teacher, choreographer & adjudicator.Â She has set countless pieces for dozens of competitive studios. Her innovative, award-winning choreography is recognized on National and International stages. Miranda has over a decade of experience teaching competitive and recreational students in a studio atmosphere. Her dancers have achieved acclaim and titles across the continent. She is also a certified member of the Professional Adjudicator’s Alliance.Â No stranger to the stage, Miranda has performed at Walt Disney World in Florida, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and has appeared on the hit CBC TV show â€œDegrassi: The Next Generationâ€. Miranda is also well acquainted with the competitive stage winning many scholarships, titles and overall awards throughout her competitive career.Â Miranda’s deep love of dance sees her regularly traveling to Las Angeles to Millennium Dance Center and the Edge Performing Arts Center. Â She has assisted Masters such as Nick Gonzalez, Kyle Hill,Â Bruce Campbell and so many more.Â Whether leading master classes of hundreds of dancers or individually focusing with a soloist, Miranda’s pedagogic skills are invaluable to competitive and recreational dancers alike!Â “To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak.”
Erika was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is a young up and coming Performer, Choreographer and Teacher. She is grateful to say that she is training beside some of the top teachers and choreographers from North America. Erika found her love and passion for dance at the early age of six when she took her first dance class at Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance. As of now, she has received extensive training in the styles of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern (Graham, Horton, Limone) and Hip Hop. Alongside from training at Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance she has also received training from the School of Toronto Dance Theater, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. Erika continues to grow and excel as a choreographer while achieving overall awards at competitions throughout Canada. Erika makes sure her choreography and knowledge of dance is at its leading edge by attending numerous workshops throughout North America. With her various roles in live performances and music video, her goal as a teacher is to be able to provide her knowledge and passion for dance to her students while developing their everyday skills. Erika loves to see and share the continued passion for dance with those who she interacts with while exploring movement as an extension of the human form.
Graduated fromÂ University Â of Culture in Samara, Russia. After graduation Mr. IablokovÂ was accepted as a Principal Dancer in Leningrad VLA State Theater ( Saint Petersburg). In 1993 Vladimir was a Principal Dancer of Ontario Ballet Theater and from 1996-2002 was an Artistic Director of Ontario Ballet Theater.Â Presently Mr. Iablokov shares his tremendous knowledge and expertise with students at Canadian Ice Academy.
Meghan began dancing at the age of three and it has been a huge part of her life since. She is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and pointe and has competed throughout Ontario and the United States where she has been awarded with many overall and title awards. Now as a teacher, Meghan is passionate about what she does. Having fun with her students, while bringing proper technique and creativity into the classroom, has always been important to her. She will forever be a student, continuing to learn and grow as a dancer and choreographer, and as a very enthusiastic tap dancer she hopes to inspire her students to let loose and rip up the floor!
Graduated from the Ballet Academy of the BolshoiÂ Ballet Theater, Moscow, For 18 years Larissa was a Principal Dancer of Leningrad State Theater ( Saint Petersburg). From 1993 Ms. Kouznetsova has been sharing her creativity and unique teaching abilityÂ with students of Bayview School of Ballet. PresentlyÂ Ms. KouznetsovaÂ isÂ anÂ Artistic Director of Bayview School of Ballet.
Ms. Ostonal holds a degree in Dance from York University and has received her As a dedicated performer, visual artist, choreographer and teacher, Tina continuously seeks opportunities where her artistry will evolve and flourish. As a former competitive dancer, she has trained extensively in a variety of dance styles including acro, ballet, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, musical theater and tap. In addition to her dance training, Tina has a complimentary background in gymnastics and trampoline at Gymnastics Mississauga. She has also trained at The Toronto School of Circus Arts, where she further developed her skills in acrobatics.
As a performer, Tina had the opportunity to dance with the Toronto hip hop company, Thrive! Entertainment. Her love for performing has also allowed her to travel abroad, aboard the Disney Magic, where she performed for Disney Cruise Lines as a Main Stage Dancer and Entertainer. Â During the summer at Annex Dance Academy, Tina is the Director of Spotlight Summer Camp. Â Tina is a recent graduate of York University, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in the Specialized Honors Dance Studies Program. During her time at York U, Tina focused on dance science and education courses, allowing her to attain up-to-date teaching methodologies and strategies to implement into her own classes. As an active community member in the GTA, Tina also volunteers teaching creative movement in local pre-schools and older adult community centers. Tina combines her devotion and love for dance in her teaching and is delighted to share her passion for the arts with her students.
